Description

Onboarding Package Bundle

This proposal bundles four proposals that have previously been approved in individual temperature checks. While we typically like to avoid bundling proposals, we consulted with the Accountability Committee (AC) and other members of the DAO prior to posting the proposal to weigh the operational headache of getting four delegates to make proposals. In the future, the organization could consider upgrading our governance contract to make it easier to run multiple governance proposals.

1. Sei’s onboarding package is $500k and includes the Merkl integration. The Sei team has committed to providing liquidity alongside Uniswap’s incentives (more info). The Sei has separately arranged to be integrated into Oku. Sei’s EVM launch has not yet occurred but is expected soon, and upon the AC's review, Sei will be added to the Uniswap v3 Deployments record under the new program.
2. Manta’s onboarding package is $250k and includes the Merkl integration. Manta will match Uniswap’s $250k 1:1 with MANTA. After this proposal passes, the Manta team will work to deliver the tokens to the AC so UNI and MANTA rewards can be initiated at the same time. Manta, like Sei, separately arranged to be integrated into Oku’s frontend. This proposal also adds Manta to the Uniswap v3 Deployment record.
3. Taiko’s onboarding package is $250k and includes Oku and Merkl integrations. In addition to the incentives, the Taiko team will commit $250k in liquidity to the wETH/USDC 0.05% pool. Taiko was previously approved for a package in the original batch, but payment wasn’t processed in proposal 59 because their launch date was a while away. Their launch is now imminent. Taiko will be added to the Uniswap v3 Deployments record under the new program.
4. Moonbeam’s onboarding package is $250k and includes the Merkl integration. Moonbeam was previously approved for a package in the original batch, but payment wasn’t processed in proposal 59 because talks were ongoing with their team. As part of this proposal, passing Moonbeam will add $100k of GLMR to the protocol’s incentives. After this proposal passes, their team will work to deliver the tokens to the AC so UNI and GMLR rewards can be initiated at the same time.

The above is based on a UNI price of $7.86.

The following reflects the views of L2BEAT’s governance team, composed of @kaereste and @Sinkas, and it’s based on the combined research, fact-checking, and ideation of the two. We participated in the Snapshot vote for each of the chains and supported all of them for different amounts so we’ll also be voting for them during the on-chain vote. All of the proposed onboarding packages have first gone through Snapshot and they all passed. Bundling them for the on-chain vote makes sense as it makes the whole process have less overhead and reduces the amount spent on gas for delegates.
